Training Associates

Danyel is a dedicated Training Associate for Thinking Collaborative specializing in Cognitive Coaching℠. Over the course of her career, she has supported the development of teachers, mentors, coaches, and administrators who support students at all educational levels. Danyel is an experienced facilitator and presenter who focuses on supporting individual buildings and districts to strengthen skills and systems in order to benefit students.


Danyel is currently serving as the Founder & Executive Director at Desired State Coaching & Consulting in Bondurant, IA. Danyel specializes and provides training in the areas of Cognitive Coaching℠, Facilitation of Small Groups, Teacher Leadership, and Mentoring as well as personalized professional development for surrounding school districts. Prior to starting Desired State Coaching, Danyel has been a professional development lead, Instructional Coach, facilitator of a Mentoring & Induction Program, and Educator. Danyel holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Secondary Education from Iowa State University, and earned a Master of Arts in Higher Education from Viterbo University in Wisconsin.


Danyel's mission is to amplify the impact of coaching by fostering clarity in roles and instilling confidence, capacity, and skill refinement. Through her unwavering dedication, she ensures that educators are empowered to enhance student growth and success.
