In response to the post by Seth in response to Elena Aguilar. There are some assumptions she makes that are not based on fact. I wonder if she ever completed the full 8 days of CC Foundation and Advanced CC. We definitely include emotion in the PACE for the Problem Resolving Map. A novice in CC may not always know how to respond when a coachee has a deep-seated issue but s/he would certainly know to help the coachee to identify the "deeper, actual presenting problem" and to identify some resources for addressing those issues. Having read her book and having completed training for certification for International Coaching Federation, I am aware that our strong emphasis on cognition is somewhat downplayed in their models. They also are highly focused on the use of questions and discourage the use of paraphrases. I am always glad to address the similarities and differences in the two approaches and to identify the power of cognition as a focus.
