In a recent study (Grisson, Egalite, & Lindsay, 2021), the authors identified 4 sets of practices effective principals engage in to improve student outcomes. The 3rd is "facilitating collaboration" which includes ensuring common planning time for instructional teams and setting up and maintaining high-functioning PLCs.

Just another bit of research to support the Adaptive Schools work. You can read the research study here https://www.wallacefoundation.org/knowledge-center/pages/how-principals-affect-students-and-schools-a-systematic-synthesis-of-two-decades-of-research.aspx

Or read a synopsis in the April 2021 Educational Leadership issue entitled The Empowered Principal. Article title is "What Great Principals Really Do" by Grissom, Egalite, & Lindsay.
